| Our Church Style |

Each church is different. Even though many Christian churches hold the same core beliefs, the way they put those beliefs into practice may vary. Here are some of the specific values that shape who we are as a church…

Culturally Liberal – We see ourselves as missionaries who proclaim the message of Jesus to our culture. Thus, we do not want to retreat from the culture and isolate ourselves. While our biblical orthodoxy does not change as culture shifts, the style in which we do church does change to help us effectively reach the current culture. We approach culture with truth and mercy.

Theologically Conservative – We believe in the Bible.  Even though the culture of our church may be more liberal, we uphold scripture as the ultimate authority in our lives. If it says it, we believe it. We also believe that the historic orthodox creeds of the Christian church embody the fundamental facts of the faith. For more details see our statement of faith.

Small Groups – We have multiple groups of people that meet throughout the week to learn how to apply the Bible to their lives and become genuine disciples of the living God. Group community is a priority for us…we value honesty and integrity in our relationships.

Worship – God created people that we may give him glory.  Our lives are to reflect that.  We spend time every weekend singing songs to honor God and lift him up.

Hands-on Prayer – The Bible speaks of hands-on prayer as a frequent occurrence among the church.  We value laying our hands on people in prayer expecting God to show up on the spot and bring comfort, encouragement, and healing.

Service – We are not just to be weekend church goers; we all have a role to play in God’s Church.  God has given gifts to everyone that are to be used to glorify him in the local church. Feeding the poor, serving our kids, leading small groups, and many more areas are not reserved for staff members only. Everyone has a role to play.
